Springer Guitars

Mikael Springer grew up in the small village of Valmont, France. His influences as a child included listening to his father playing American & British Rock bands on a vinyl turntable, and working with his grandfather on the workbench that planted the seed for Mikael’s love of working with his hands.

Later on, as he began to play guitar, he found himself learning setups, experimenting with the electronics, and making replicas of his favorite guitars inspired by high end, made in Japan models. For a stretch of time he setup, customized and made replicas for local musicians and friends. A civil engineer by trade, Mikael found himself spending more and more of his time working on guitars. Two things became clear. First, he wanted to create with his hands, and second – he loved design and wanted to create his own body shape.

His ideas led to drawings, and prototypes of the Seraph model. A few years later, Mikael was satisfied with the Seraph, and with it launched Springer Guitars. He then added to the line by offering the Halfbreed & Affinity models.

Cleverly designed instruments full of personality - Grand Guitars Magazine

Mikael’s attention to detail in making a guitar by hand focuses on several elements he feels are important in delivering a total instrument to a player. These include tone, a great ergonomic feel for comfort and playability, a quality fit and finish that is aesthetically pleasing and functional. this approach to the craft and his never ending quest for improvement will secure a future place in history for his contribution to the art of guitar building.

The Montreal Guitar Show of 2012 served as a coming out to the International Community for Springer handmade Guitars. Since then, players worldwide and the European Media have increasingly taken notice of Mikael Springer’s quality work, which has been featured in several magazines. Considering his attention to detail and his precise standards, we are proud that he has chosen Stringdog’s Tone Rockets 10 gauge strings to crown all guitars shipped from his shop.
